Defect Registration is part of an integrated ProductionWare system that tracks all of the value-add to each unit during production. If a unit fails a test, or if an operator notices a quality problem with a unit, that defect can be logged to the database and a message is sent to the station operator that caused the defect. The messages are stored and can be reviewed by management to identify potential process, training or operator issues.
